  • Beschrijving: Nikos and Martha are a happily married couple with a cute little girl. However, poverty forces Nikos to work wherever he can to provide for his family. One day, he is arrested and imprisoned because he was unknowingly transporting smuggled goods. His daughter becomes ill, and in her desperation, Martha seeks help from a wealthy acquaintance of theirs, Giorgis Vettas, who immediately agrees to aid her under the condition that she become his lover. Martha takes the money, but in order to avoid the exchange, leaves it with her aunt and disappears. Nikos, believing that she has left with Vettas, is deeply wounded and vows never to see her again. Martha has, in fact left, to work in Germany. The owner of a nightclub recognizes the quality of her voice and gives her a chance to sing under the name Martha Sideri. Meanwhile, her husband, who has been released from prison, becomes a singer as well, under the name of Nikos Salonikios. As time goes by, he reconsiders things and is convinced that his wife did not cheat on him, so he begins to search for her. Ten years after their marriage, Nikos and Martha are reunited again, as their paths cross in the high-flying world of nightclubs where they perform.
